New Make Up Geek Haul

Make Up Geek DuochromesI’ve often admired Make Up Geek eye shadows from afar, but the fact they’re not readily available in UK stores has always put me off. With the release of their new duochrome eye shadow pans, I finally decided to take the plunge – besides, the exchange rate worked in my favour so each $6 shadow ends up as £3.90, while shipping was only £5.85!

So I picked up three duochrome shadows, a jar of pigment, and a small crease brush. Here’s the pigment, called Enchanted, which normally retails for $9 but was $6.99 on sale.

Look at this swatch! Isn’t it beautiful!

I can’t wait to try that one out, particularly with one of my new Kiko shades.

These are the duochromes. The top left is Havoc, top right is Secret Garden, and the bottom is Steampunk.

Here are the swatches! Steampunk is at the top, Havoc is in the centre, and Secret Garden is at the bottom.

Havoc is described on the website as “a warm red-brown base with teal reflects”, Secret Garden “has a deep espresso base with bright teal reflects” and Steampunk has “a black base with rich copper reflects”. On me, Havoc looks almost pink with teal reflects, almost like Solstice by Urban Decay, but Steampunk is more of a dark brown with copper glitter, and Secret Garden is a bizarre dark green/brown. I’m a little disappointed by the swatches, compared to the ones on the website, but hopefully they’ll be better actually on the lid.

I’ll certainly be trying them out and reviewing them here soon!

Have you tried any of the Make Up Geek duochrome eye shadows yet?
